Red arrow points to Qingcheng Houshan. The band between the green lines is peppered with places to visit for a day trip from Chengdu. The the west, as the snow on the peaks suggests in this Google Map, the mountains become higher and more rugged. The stream in the pictures below flows southwest onto the plain and then south to join another and another before passing through Chongzhou. Just to the north is the much larger river which flows through DujiangYan. More on that in my next post.
